Uzbekistan, one of my favorite places

With a bit of time to spare I’ve been going through old holiday pics from one of my favourite trips to Uzbekistan with the amazing buildings of Samarkand and Bukhara from which I’ve taken the patterns as a base for some of my latest work, some of which can be seen on the Contemporary […]

Khiva – new sculpture is finished

Just finished my new sculpture, Khiva and managed to get a quick photo on a dramatic stormy afternoon.

Really pleased with it, a design that I’ve been dabbling with for a while. To be honest it’s turned out a little better than I thought. Already thinking about future developments.

You can view more details of this […]

Sparks Flying – a new sculpture taking shape

Sparks are Flying !

Busy working on a new sculpture design, a fairly large circular piece that I’m planning to mount in stone. This one will be finished with a rusted patina, but I’m already thinking that a stainless steel version with a mirror polish or bronze version with a green verdigris would look great.

Hoping […]

Braganca Sculpture – new stunning version of one of my favorite garden sculptures using a mix of materials

Just finished a new version of one of my favorite garden sculptures ‘Braganca’ named after a beautiful small town in northern Portugal where I first sketched the idea for the piece whilst on holiday. The sculpture was made as a special commission with the client requesting the mix of materials which certainly works.

The new […]

New comission, a pair of Giraffe sculptures

Just got back from delivering my latest sculpture commission, a pair of Giraffe’s. The client’s brief was for a garden sculpture that was a little more contemporary, rather than a straight replica. Hopefully I’ve achieved this.

I’ve made the Giraffe’s from a slightly thicker than usual 10mm metal to give added strength to the slender […]

Metal Wall Art and Garden Screens

Something new, our Cow Parsley Wall Panel. The panel is based on the design of our popular Cow Parsley design, and makes use of the design in a simple graphical repeat pattern. The simplistic design lends itself to both traditional and more contemporary gardens and houses. It adds a little interest to patio areas […]

Sculpture at Doddington

Just spent a really enjoyable day installing my work at the beautiful Doddington Hall for the forthcoming sculpture exhibition. I’m showing two of my more contemporary sculptures, The Tulip and Samarkand which aren’t featured on the website along with a swathe of The Wild Clematis seedheads.

The Tulip
More abstract and 3 dimensional than some of […]

Samarkand, my latest sculpture

Just finished work on my latest piece ’Samarkand’ inspired by the stunning mosaics and architecture in Samarkand, an ancient city on the Silk Road in Uzbekistan.

I first became aware of Samarkand whilst on holiday in Estonia. On the bookshelf in the house was was an old soviet era book on ancient building of the […]
