Wall art / garden screen using a repeat Cow Parsley design

A larger garden screen or piece of wall art based again on a repeat pattern my Cow Parsley design.

The design is Laser cut from corten steel that is left to oxidise naturally forming a richly coloured rust finish. The panel can be hung outside or in. I’m thinking about adding LED lighting to the […]

Birch Plywood interior sculpture – first experiments

Just finished my first experiment with CNC and laser cut birch plywood for this interior sculpture based on my Cow Parsley design.

I have always loved the effect you get with designs created from plywood and been longing to have a go.Really pleased with the result and the fact that the laser cutting burns […]

New contemporary sculpture – photography

Lately the weather has been great and I’ve been taking the opportunity to take some photos of one or two of my new contemporary sculptures.

For the first time I’ve experimented with photographing sculptures at night. The key is picking the right moment between the on-set of dusk and complete darkness so you still have […]

Uzbekistan, one of my favorite places

With a bit of time to spare I’ve been going through old holiday pics from one of my favourite trips to Uzbekistan with the amazing buildings of Samarkand and Bukhara from which I’ve taken the patterns as a base for some of my latest work, some of which can be seen on the Contemporary […]

A sunny day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park

I recently had a trip up north to deliver a new sculpture created from a mix or rusted corten steel and polished stainless steel to my Braganca design.

My journey back home took me down the M1 right past the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The sun was shining and a cuppa and cake and a walk […]

Khiva – new sculpture is finished

Just finished my new sculpture, Khiva and managed to get a quick photo on a dramatic stormy afternoon.

Really pleased with it, a design that I’ve been dabbling with for a while. To be honest it’s turned out a little better than I thought. Already thinking about future developments.

You can view more details of this […]

Sparks Flying – a new sculpture taking shape

Sparks are Flying !

Busy working on a new sculpture design, a fairly large circular piece that I’m planning to mount in stone. This one will be finished with a rusted patina, but I’m already thinking that a stainless steel version with a mirror polish or bronze version with a green verdigris would look great.

Hoping […]

Braganca Sculpture – new stunning version of one of my favorite garden sculptures using a mix of materials

Just finished a new version of one of my favorite garden sculptures ‘Braganca’ named after a beautiful small town in northern Portugal where I first sketched the idea for the piece whilst on holiday. The sculpture was made as a special commission with the client requesting the mix of materials which certainly works.

The new […]

New comission, a pair of Giraffe sculptures

Just got back from delivering my latest sculpture commission, a pair of Giraffe’s. The client’s brief was for a garden sculpture that was a little more contemporary, rather than a straight replica. Hopefully I’ve achieved this.

I’ve made the Giraffe’s from a slightly thicker than usual 10mm metal to give added strength to the slender […]

Metal Wall Art and Garden Screens

Something new, our Cow Parsley Wall Panel. The panel is based on the design of our popular Cow Parsley design, and makes use of the design in a simple graphical repeat pattern. The simplistic design lends itself to both traditional and more contemporary gardens and houses. It adds a little interest to patio areas […]
