Lately the weather has been great and I’ve been taking the opportunity to take some photos of one or two of my new contemporary sculptures.

For the first time I’ve experimented with photographing sculptures at night. The key is picking the right moment between the on-set of dusk and complete darkness so you still have some natural light and a glow in the sky.

I’ve started to incorporate options for lighting in the base of some designs, something I have real passion for having worked for many years as a commercial photographer where lighting was a key factor for a successful photo-shoot.

Lighting really can add another dimension, picking the sculpture out in the garden which is great during the winter months, especially if the sculpture is visible from the house.
