Had a trip to Yorkshire last week to deliver some sculptures for a large landscaping project. Whilst there I spent a day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in glorious sunshine.

The 500 acre  park set in rolling countryside is an open-air gallery showing sculptures by the likes of Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Andy Goldsworthy and hosts regular exhibitions by British and international artists. Must admit, I wasn’t too keen on some of the work, but art is a very personal thing and being there, seeing the shear scale of some of the works was well worth it.

The highlight for me was discovering a smaller gallery on the far side of the valley to the main displays. The gallery in a converted cattle shed had panoramic windows looking out across the valley and featured smaller sculptures and paintings. The park is just off the M1 near Wakefield, if you are in the area its well worth a visit.
