Just finished a new commission for a flight of three Avocets. The client wanted a more contemporary look and went  for a  stainless steel version which was then mirror polished, a finish that should look quite spectacular reflecting the clouds as they drift by.

The client also requested the Skylon posts that are are inspired by the huge Skyoln that made such a dramatic sight on the South Bank at the 1951 Festival of Britain, its something that’s fascinated me since I was young. I managed to find a local furniture maker who had a 2m long lathe and he’s done a magnificent job creating the three identical Skylons.

The sculptures are destined for a garden north of the border, i’m making the long trip north next week to deliver and install, can’t wait to see them in there final resting place.
