It’s another piece that’s influenced from my travels through the amazing country of Uzbekistan with its gorgeous buildings, covered in geometric mosaics that have influenced the design of this piece.

With a height of 170cm it’s made from two identical, almost teardrop shapes that interlock to form a cross and feature an intricate repeat pattern and this version is mounted on a granite plinth.

I’m pleased to say that I will have the sculpture on display at the @chichesteropenstudios which starts on Saturday 22nd April 2023.

The photos feature an installation of three deer sculptures to my Hind design. I also make a larger Stag with impressive antlers and to complete the family is a smaller design for a Fawn.

After getting off the ferry I came across Rhu Church and the entrance gate immediately caught my eye. it’s a gorgeous simple design that’s sort of contemporary but perfectly in keeping with the church with its unusual stone roof and the surrounding landscape.

Canna is a tiny island with a population of around 15 with a huge variety of wildlife and some stunning cliff walks plus the Cafe Canna, a great place to relax after a long days walk.

The sculpture is influenced by the geometric designs that are found in the mosaics that adorn the buildings. With a height of 170cm it’s made from two identical, almost teardrop shapes that interlock to form a cross and feature an intricate repeat pattern.

The first piece is made from corten steel with a surface that will be left to form a rusted patina. I also have another version in the pipeline made from stainless steel that will be finished with a mirror polish and mounted on a granite plinth, sourced from a Cornish quarry. It’s a bespoke sculpture and could be scaled up or down and made from a variety of materials to suit the intended location.

I’m lucky to live near the shores of Chichester harbour on the south coast and the simplistic design is based on the scene that I often observe during early morning walks along the foreshore.

The design lends itself to both traditional and more contemporary gardens and houses and can be hung indoors or outdoors.

The wall Panel is made from Corten Steel which is allowed to rust naturally with it’s rich warm hues that glow in the evening sun. The rusted finish continually evolves with time, adding interest and brightening up the garden through the winter months.

At 6 meters tall this is my largest piece of sculpture / public art that’s recently been installed at the entrance to Cala Homes, Kings Barton housing development Nr Winchester, Hampshire. Based on my Braganca design the sculpture is created from laser cut 20mm thick Corten steel with a gorgeous rusted patina that really was glowing in the Autumn light. I’m really pleased with the result, the simple lines of the design look great with the contemporary architecture of the stylish new homes.

The sculpture is lit at night by 4 uplighter’s mounted in the base. Can’t wait to go back and get some photos at dusk.
