Fresh Air 2017

At the exhibition we will be showing a large installation of over forty of our Cow Parsley seedheads, it’s our the largest installation of seedheads – so far. Simon started work at the end of last year, creating all the pieces to make sure they are ready for the early installation in mid March to allow for photoshoots and publicity material to be created prior to the opening in June.

This biennial sculpture exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see a creative mixture of traditional, modern and cutting-edge contemporary work in a stunning outdoor setting. Set up by art collectors, Lucy and David Abel-Smith, the first sculpture show was held in the Quenington Old Rectory gardens in 1992. Acclaim for the show’s originality and innovative mixture of traditional, modern and cutting-edge contemporary outdoor sculpture has grown year by year and it is now an established and much anticipated fixture in the art events calendar.

Its a wonderful riverside setting, well worth a visit.

Dates – Sunday June 11th until Sunday July 2nd
Opening Times – Open 10am – 5pm every day including Sundays

Garden Art and Sculpture exhibiting at Sussex Prairie Gardens

Sussex Prairie Gardens

Last year we had the pleasure of exhibiting at Prairie Gardens so we are thrilled to have been invited back for 2016. It was our favorite location last year, making several visits it was great to see the gardens change with the seasons and to sample the fabulous cakes. The gardens are stunning, well worth a visit.

Sculpture is an integral part of the gardens and has been sympathetically installed to further enhance the naturalistic planting. The gardens near Henfield, West Sussex were created by Pauline and Paul McBride. Surrounded by mature oaks, the six acre garden has a series of arched borders with impressive drifts of plants in soft muted colors which contrasts leaf forms, stems, stalks, flower shapes and textures. The borders encourage exploration and adventure and visitors are welcome to roam along tiny paths in amongst the mighty plants and sculptures to further enjoy the experience.

We will be installing our Cow Parsley, Wild Clematis, Avocet and Sheep sculptures with the swathes of swaying grasses forming the perfect backdrop for our sculptures. Can’t wait to see them on a summers afternoon with the warm hues of the rusted finish glowing in the sun and perhaps a glass of wine or two.

The Unusual Plant Fair

The Unusual Plant Fair on Sunday 3rd September is a great event with stalls set up around the gardens. It’s a chance to by that unusual plant from one of the stalls or one of your favourites from the garden that are available from the gardens own shop. As well as plant stalls, there are a number of artists stalls displaying a range of work to compliment the planting in your garden. The Fair opens at 11am and is well worth a trip.
